Project Description

Capacity Building Program on Motor Mechanics for Young Forest Range Officers

Kumaraguru Institutions organized a Capacity Building Program on Motor Mechanics for young Forest Range Officers, benefiting 40+ trainees from across India currently undergoing training at the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy (TNFA). This initiative aimed to equip officers with essential technical knowledge to efficiently manage and maintain motorized vehicles in challenging forest terrains.

The program was conducted by the Automobile and Aeronautical Engineering departments at Kumaraguru College of Technology, providing hands-on training in vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs. Given that forest officers often work in remote locations, where immediate mechanical assistance may not be available, this training is crucial in ensuring uninterrupted mobility during patrols, rescue missions, and conservation activities.

By integrating theory with practical demonstrations, the sessions empowered officers with fundamental automotive skills, enhancing their self-reliance and operational efficiency. This initiative aligns with Kumaraguru’s commitment to skill development, sustainability, and interdisciplinary learning, ensuring that trainees are well-prepared to handle real-world challenges in forest management.

Through such specialized training programs, Kumaraguru continues to contribute to capacity building and technological empowerment, fostering a more resilient and resourceful forest workforce.
