Kumaraguru Institutions successfully hosted the inaugural Student Conclave for Climate Action (SCCA) 2024 on March 19, 2024, at our Coimbatore campus. This event was part of YUGAM 2024, South India’s largest Techno-Cultural, Sports, and Literary fest, which attracts over 20,000 attendees annually, featuring nearly 200 events, workshops, and cultural programs.
The Student Conclave for Climate Action brought together students passionate about environmental sustainability and climate action. Centered around the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the conclave facilitated meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and inspiration for actionable solutions towards a greener future. The event focused on key themes such as Sustainable Systems and Energy, Circular Economy, Agriculture, and Policies.
With participation from over 400 students, researchers, and delegates representing 50+ colleges and universities across the nation, the conclave featured a series of plenary sessions, panel discussions, five workshops, three master classes, and two field visits. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers from various fields of climate action and sustainability.
The event served as a dynamic platform for networking, learning, and collaboration, empowering students to take active roles in environmental stewardship. With its impactful discussions and engagements, the conclave set a strong foundation for future climate action initiatives.
