Overview
A two-acre urban forest, named Chinnavedampatti Vanam, is being developed near Chinnavedampatti Lake to enhance local biodiversity and provide a sustainable green space for the community. Over the past year, 600 native saplings have been planted by students and alumni, with 50 additional saplings added during Environment Day celebrations, contributing to ongoing lake restoration efforts.
Description
In collaboration with Kausika Neerkarangal (lake restoration partner) and Arulagam NGO (native plant nursery), focuses on ecological restoration through native tree plantation. Students and alumni from Kumaraguru Institutions have gained hands-on exposure to conservation practices while contributing to the long-term environmental sustainability of the Chinnavedampatti Lake ecosystem.
