Nilgiris Bird Watch Competition, held on 01 February 2026, brought together birding enthusiasts across the Western Ghats for a day dedicated to avian observation and documentation. 10+ birders and bird photographers from Kumaraguru Institutions and VISCOM dept actively participated in the event, contributing to species identification and field recording efforts. The event offered students valuable exposure to field-based biodiversity monitoring and strengthened their understanding of habitat diversity within one of India’s key ecological regions. Beyond competition, the initiative fostered ecological sensitivity, teamwork, and citizen science engagement.
