Project Description<\/h3>\n

Kumaraguru Institutions, Coimbatore, is fostering sustainable farming through K-Farm, a 5-acre model farm on campus. Designed as a living lab, this initiative integrates hands-on learning with technology-driven agricultural innovations, enabling students and faculty to explore eco-friendly cultivation methods.<\/p>\n

K-Farm focuses on diversified organic farming, growing five varieties of vegetables\u2014Brinjal, Lab Lab, Chilli, Bhendi, and Tomato\u2014along with 225 kg of rice harvested through sustainable practices. 90% of the cultivation is organic, ensuring minimal environmental impact. The farm also includes 30 cents of banana plantation with two varieties and another 30 cents dedicated to maize cultivation.<\/p>\n

To promote farm-to-table sustainability, K-Farm supplies fresh produce to the KCT campus mess and Kore, reinforcing a self-sustaining ecosystem. Additionally, the K-Farmers Group facilitates direct sales three times a week, creating an avenue for community engagement and responsible consumption. Currently, 2 acres are under active cultivation, with further expansion planned.<\/p>\n

K-Farm stands as a beacon of sustainable agriculture, education, and innovation, equipping students with practical knowledge while contributing to food security and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n
