Overview
The Motor Mechanics Training Programme for Forest Range Officer trainees focused on strengthening technical knowledge and practical vehicle maintenance skills essential for field operations. Conducted at Kumaraguru Campus in collaboration with the Department of Automobile Engineering, the program aimed to enhance operational readiness and technical confidence among officers serving in India’s forest service.
About
The 30th batch of Forest Range Officer trainees from the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS) participated in a three-day intensive Motor Mechanics Training Programme at Kumaraguru Campus. The program engaged more than 40 trainees and was designed by the Department of Automobile Engineering to combine theoretical understanding with hands-on practical sessions. Participants were introduced to essential aspects of vehicle systems, including engine functioning, lubrication mechanisms, vehicle inspection procedures, servicing practices, and fundamentals of electric vehicle maintenance. Through workshop-based learning, trainees gained practical insights into troubleshooting and maintaining vehicles used in demanding field conditions. The training aimed to reduce vehicle downtime during forest operations while strengthening the technical preparedness of officers. By building practical mechanical knowledge, the program contributed to the professional development and operational efficiency of India’s forest service personnel.
