The initiative highlighted the importance of native tree planting, ecological restoration, and student participation in creating a greener and more sustainable environment.

About

The tree plantation drive served as an opportunity for students to actively participate in a landscape restoration initiative that has been underway at Orathupalayam, Kangeyam, since 2024. The restoration efforts involve the removal of invasive Seemai Karuvelam and the planting of native saplings across 200 acres. With over one lakh saplings planted so far, the initiative reflects a sustained commitment to restoring the landscape and creating space for native biodiversity to thrive. Through their participation, Kumaraguru students contributed to this ongoing journey, reinforcing the role of youth engagement and collective action in environmental conservation.
